Brixton Recreation Centre, London. We were pleased to be contracted by Createability Ltd to do the flooring as part of the major £2.85 million refurbishment of this Recreation Centre. The work was carried out in phases, starting on the third floor with the heavy traffic Reception area, leading through to the Offices and Café area. Beside the Reception area is a busy Crèche where we installed Polyflor XL pu vinyl sheet and Tarasafe Ultra. We then tackled the fifth floor new Gym area, where we supplied and laid over 800 sq m of flooring in the three zones, including the spectacular tiered Cardio Zone overlooking the pool. The final stage involved the Changing Rooms and Weight Training area on the sixth floor. In view of the hard wear the flooring would be subjected to, we used Marley Reflections Spring Oak vinyl in the Reception areas, while the offices and gym areas were laid in Heckmondwike Supacord. The nosings on the stairs were Gradus G11 and in the Café, Changing Rooms and WC's we installed Tarasafe Ultra heavy duty slip-resistant vinyl sheet.

St Neot's Preparatory School, Eversley: new nursery and crèche. Key Floors were pleased to work with Osmer Building Limited to create an attractive and safe environment for young children at this nursery. We supplied and laid Gerflor Nera heavy duty wood effect sheet vinyl in the nursery areas, with Gerflor Tarasafe Ultra heavy duty slip-resistant sheet vinyl in the WC's. The reception area was carpeted in Flotex heavy duty carpet with Wolff Baccarat broadloom carpet in the offices. The work was carried out during the summer holidays .

Perins School, Alresford, a Community and Sports College in Alresford: Sports Hall refurbishment. We acted as principal contractor for Hampshire County Council on this project, which involved sub-floor preparation on an area of over 600 sq m before a Gym-Tech surface was laid. After removing the cricket nets the existing Granwood floor was removed and the surface diamond ground. Any minor cracks or holes were treated before we applied two coats of Tremco ES300 surface DPM. Tremco No 7 Aggregate was broadcast into the surface and after vacuuming loose aggregate we pumped Treadfast Unismooth Underlayment onto the surface. Once clean the surface was ready for the Gym-Tech system to be installed. Gradus SO100 sit-on skirting was then fitted to the perimeter.

B&Q Revamp programmes. Since 2005 Key Floors has worked on these programmes throughout the UK and the Republic of Ireland. We work on the merchandising areas and coffee shops where a luxury vinyl floor is required, laying Karndean Van Gogh wood plank vinyl flooring or Eletile EleEase vinyl plank flooring. Where necessary we apply a fast track one coat DPM. After this has cured we prime the floor and apply Treadfast Unismooth underlayment. Should the stairs or offices and toilets in the Admin Blocks need attention we will refurbish them as required with R-Floor Quartz heavy duty vinyl tiles.
