About Key Floors
Based in North East Hampshire, we are a genuine family firm, with an enviable industry knowledge and history. We specialise in flooring refurbishments and have built up our business over many years, providing all types of contract flooring services to a wide clientele.
Our founder Keith Simmons, who before launching Key Floors Ltd in 1982 worked for many years at Shell Composites, took on the current Managing Director Peter Kavanagh as a fitter. Peter took over Key Floors in 1987, and under his leadership the specialist company has expanded and developed, so that we can now boast a team of experienced, committed full-time staff and a pool of skilled and reliable sub-contractors who work with us regularly to provide our trademark professional, high quality service.
Contract flooring is a competitive and at times confusing marketplace but we have maintained our position as a market leader in the UK commercial and industrial field because of our professionalism, reliability and industry history. Whether it be for heavy duty vinyl, safety flooring, ESD or sports floors, carpet or wood flooring, it is a matter of personal pride that so much of our flooring work comes as a result of referrals from satisfied customers. We also pride ourselves on having a very low staff turnover. As you would expect from a company with our excellent reputation for specialist flooring, all our fitters hold CSCS cards at the appropriate level and the company has been awarded the Gold Standard CSCS Certificate. Our apprentices attend Erith College which runs NVQ programmes in impervious flooring, while some of our improvers will qualify for their NVQ 2 through an OSAT scheme. As part of their training, to ensure that they have the required skills for fitting all types of flooring materials, the fitters undertake additional manufacturers' courses, such as those run by Forbo Flooring for linoleum flooring and Ardex UK for sub floor preparation. As expected from a contract flooring company with our high standards, we hold regular Health and Safety training for all staff. - Full site survey including sub-floor investigation
- Floor preparation and product specification recommendation
- Costing and estimate, with written report to COSHH requirements
- Risk Assessment, Method Statement and COSHH supplied when requested
- Installation and full Contract Management service, including Quality Management
